DOM BISTRÒ is a place built in 2008 and renovated by us in 2019, thus following up on Borgo Grotta Gigante the tradition of the Milič family, which can be praised for 135 years of food and wine history.
We chose the name “DOM”, which in Slovenian means home, to convey our clients’ the same warmth,one could enjoy around the fireplace in the old karst houses.

We serve excellent local products, from wines to cold cuts, cheeses etc. at km 0. Those products that are also used as raw materials for our dishes and our pizzas.
We have a wide range of wines, and beers on tap from local and non-local producers. We have a lunch menu, which varies seasonally, and on request we can come up with a specific menu for schools and groups.
We serve pizzas both for lunch and dinner, and in the weekends the afternoon as well. In the evening you can choose among different dishes, sandwiches, fries, salads and homemade desserts. Here you will always find a cold cuts plate and cheeses from local producers.
In the morning, in addition to a good coffee and croissant, you can have breakfast and choose from: bacon and eggs, sugar free (consisting of cereals, seeds, fresh fruit, yogurt from local producer or alternatively organic or vegetable milk) or a vitamin based breakfast (with fruit, vegetables and tofu).
DOM Bistrò is located at the exit of the Grotta Gigante, in the middle of the Karst, where 65% of the territory is protected by “NATURA 2000” with Sites of Community Interest (SCI) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs).
Karst is a multi-ethnic area where the Slovenian minority has a huge presence; it is an area rich in culture and which has experienced important historical events.

We also offer a wide selection of wines especially from the area and high quality cocktails.
Although we have a large space, 100 seats outside and 70 inside, we recommend you to book your table.
Outside you can enjoy a large garden equipped with games for children. There is a children corner inside too.
We have a gazebo right next to the restaurant which we rent out for parties for adults and children.
